Custom Special-Shaped Sponge Liner Project for Gift Boxes (Shenzhen High-End Gift Box Company)

In May 2025, a high-end gift company based in Shenzhen received a gift box order from a key client, and was in urgent need of complex special-shaped, high-fitting, and neat-looking sponge inner trays for high-end cultural and creative gift boxes. The client’s difficulties were as follows: the inner tray has an irregular shape with built-in grooves and arc structures; the surface is required to be delicate, pinhole-free, and free of obvious seams; the order features small batches with multiple styles, with a quantity of 2000-3000 pieces per style, a delivery period of 11 days, and rapid prototyping is required to confirm the presentation effect.

After receiving the special-shaped sponge demand, Jinyili adopted 3D cutting prototyping to deliver the first sample within 1 day, which fully restored the dimensions marked on the client’s drawings. A 25kg/m³ high-density sponge was selected, which features soft hand feel and moderate support, and can perfectly fit the inner wall of the gift box. For special-shaped processing, a CNC numerical control engraving machine is used for one-step forming, with no splicing seams, smooth surface and no burrs. Adopting small-batch flexible production, 3-5 styles can be switched per day without delaying the delivery schedule.

The first batch of 3 styles of special-shaped inner trays, totaling 7500 sets, was produced and delivered in 9 days, and passed the on-site acceptance inspection by the client at one go. The client was extremely satisfied with the details and fitting degree. Subsequently, the client transferred all the inner trays for its high-end gift boxes to Jinyili, with an average of 8-12 styles of special-shaped parts customized monthly, becoming a stable client in the cultural and creative packaging sector.
